Quake 3 Arena LINUX (+SERIAL) [k0rfain]

**How to install Quake 3 Arena on Linux**

1- First open up a Terminal, and type the following:

sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/games/quake3/baseq3


2- now, put this in (guessing that you saved the Q3Linux folder in your Home folder (!This will take some time, the file is about 460 MB!) :

sudo cp /home/your username/Q3Linux_k0rfain/pak0.pk3 /usr/local/games/quake3/baseq3



3- Once that is done, type this into the terminal:

sudo cp /home/your username/Q3Linux_k0rfain/point.run /usr/local/games/quake3/baseq3


4- Now, type this, and the installation should start:

sudo sh /usr/local/games/quake3/baseq3/point.run

And now your done! just go to games Applications > Games then quake 3, if just typing quake3 in the terminal doesnt work then just do what I said before.

Also another thing you should know is, Punkbuster sometimes does not update it self, so if you ever have a problem punk buster then just do this:

go to www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbweb.x86 download it, place it in /home/your username/.q3a/pb (make sure you have show hidden files on)

then in a terminal type this:
cd /home/youruser/.q3a/pb

then this:
./pbweb.x86
