win2000Windows 2000 isn't that much older than XP and will run virtually all the same applications. This edition requires no serial and will fully update itself from the windows update website. if you can get used to the classic start menu and classic themes, this will run much faster with more stability than XP. it's rare that it won't run an application that demands XP. in such cases, look for a slightly older version of the application and update it. have a cd with your VGA and sound card drivers ready, install windows media player 9 and you're good to go :)
